We have great pleasure in inviting you to the first Al-NanoFunc workshop on Advanced Microstructural Characterization of Nanomaterials, to be held in Sevilla from 5th to 6th July 2012.
This two days’ workshop addresses the latest advances in microstructural characterization of nanomaterials. It aims to be an open discussion forum to bring together senior and young scientists in the field. The main topics of the workshop are:
- new trends in advanced nanoscopies: microstructure, imaging & spectroscopies;
- application to functional materials: catalysts, nanoparticles, nanostructured coatings.
The Material Science Institute of Seville (ICMS) will be hosting this event in join collaboration with scientist of the network of collaborative centers in Al-NanoFunc project.
The meeting will take place at the “Casa de la Ciencia” (the house of science), placed in the historical Peruvian Pavilion from the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929.

During this workshop a ceremony dedicated to prof. Guillermo Munuera in occasion of his retirement was organized. Prof. Guillermo Munuera had an invited plenary talk.
Asuncion Fernandez remembered some curiosities about the early beginnings of the Materials Science Institute of Seville and the important role of Prof. Guillermo Munuera in the research of the Institute.
